Fort Hood Trial of Major Hasan

Lt Gen Campbell Jr. is now in command of Ft Hood and has to make a decision on the very emotionally driven Maj. Hasan case. Defense moves are trying to convince him to take capital murder out of the picture and look at life in prison saying that Maj. Hasan will suffer more from life in prison than a death sentence. The most likely decision will be to send it to court-martial on a capital murder charge (13 counts) and attempted capital murder (32 counts) and let the jury decide the penalty. The defense had already argued to delay the decision by the then commander LT. Gen. Cone and have the incoming commander rule pointing out that Lt. Gen. Cone was too close to the case and some of his comments about the incident question his ability to render a fare decision.
