Lakes in the Central Texas area are near full after the early-weel rainfall helped the lakes recoup some of the lost water levels due to last year’s historic drought. Areas in Central Texas recieved 3 to 5 inches of rain over the course of Monday and Tuesday. Belton Lake is now 6 ft. above normal elevation and Stillhouse Hollow Lake is now 6 ft. below normal elevation (to put in perspective, it was 16 ft. below in November). Waters that are closer to normal elevation are also safer waters for the public
