General Information
The greater Fort Hood area includes three school districts. Fort Hood has a number of schools that are located on-post. These schools are part of the Killeen Independent School District.
The Killeen Independent School District (KISD) is the largest district in the area. At the start of the 2012-2013 school year there were 4 High Schools, 11 Middle Schools, 32 Elementary, and 5 Specialty Campuses. Student population was 41,932 on 25 September 2012. The Copperas Cove Independent School District (CCISD) is located west of Fort Hood. The student population is approximately 8,200. The district has 1 High School, 2 Middle Schools, and 7 Elementary Schools. You can reach CCID at http://www.ccisd.com.
The Belton Independent School District (BISD) has 1 High School, 3 Middle Schools, and 8 Elementary. Student population is approximately 9,800. You can reach BISD at http://www.bisd.net.
