General Information

The greater Fort Hood area includes three school districts. Fort Hood has a number of schools that are located on-post. These schools are part of the Killeen Independent School District.

The Killeen Independent School District (KISD) is the largest district in the area. At the start of the 2012-2013 school year there were 4 High Schools, 11 Middle Schools, 32 Elementary, and 5 Specialty Campuses. Student population was 41,932 on 25 September 2012. The link to the district is
