At the Texas Associated Press Managing Editor’s annual meeting on Sunday, the Killeen Daily Herald won NOTY in Class AA. The local paper finished 2nd two years ago and this year won 13 awards. To qualify for Class AA, a paper needs between 10,000 and 29,999 in circulations. The paper was second in community service during it’s coverage of the Killeen council recall, sports editor Nick Talbot won third for sports column writing & sports reporter Kevin Posival won third place in freedom of information for his work on area high school athletic budgets.
