Tips on Leaf Removal

Since we are in the middle of Fall, now I think is a good time to share some advice as maintaining the yard, in particular removing leaves.

The first tip is to make sure that you are removing the leaves throughout the season. Many homeowners will feel the need to wait until the last leaf drops before picking them up but ultimately that makes the job of picking them up much harder and will take much longer.

The other piece of advice we share is to make sure that you have all of the essential leaf-removal tools, you should only need four of them.

1) Rigid Leaf Rake- an obvious selection, just make sure that you are getting rakes with fans that range from 30′ to 36′, if the fans are too big, you won’t be able to rake the flowerbeds.

2) Leaf Tarp – for the sake of saving plastic bags, rake the leaves into a big pile on top of a plastic tarp.

3) Leaf Blower- an easy selection as well, just make sure that if you have a large yard to get a backpack model, for medium to small yards, just get the handheld.

4) Yard Vacuum- a yard vacuum will help suck up, shred, chips and bags leaves.
